Tirso Lighting was enlisted by TerraBridge IT to bring to life the new lighting system for Forward Space, an innovative dance fitness studio in New York City. Our task was to provide engineering, project support and programming that complemented the dynamic nature of the studio’s dance classes, enhancing both the functionality and aesthetics of the space.
The architectural design featured randomly positioned fixtures, creating a unique challenge in achieving a cohesive lighting environment. Creating the patch for this randomized design posed its challenges but our team was able to successfully accomplish the task.
Solutions
Chauvet LED Pixel Bars: These provided finely controllable, vibrant lighting capable of producing a wide range of effects to match the intensity of the dance classes.
UV Fluorescent Fixtures: Added to create atmospheric UV effects, enhancing the visual experience.
LED Strips: Strategically placed around mirrors and the stage platform, these strips added depth and definition to the space.
A significant aspect of the installation involved creating a custom Madrix patch to accurately map the randomly positioned fixtures. This allowed for precise control and integration of the lighting effects, ensuring they aligned perfectly with the studio’s layout and design intentions.
