LVL Lounge in Allentown, Pennsylvania was redesigned as a refined speakeasy-style cocktail bar, bringing a new level of sophistication to the local nightlife scene. The vision was to create an intimate, stylish environment that feels warm and inviting while offering a visually distinctive experience from the moment guests enter. With limited spaces in the area offering this type of upscale cocktail lounge atmosphere, the goal was to establish LVL as a standout destination.
Working within an existing bar layout, the transformation focused on elevating the space through thoughtful interior design, layered lighting, and strong focal points. By enhancing the current structure with new materials, custom features, and strategic lighting, the venue was reimagined into a cohesive lounge environment that balances comfort, style, and functionality.

Through digital visualization, we were able to explore how different materials, lighting tones, and layout adjustments would interact within the existing space. This allowed the team and ownership to preview the transformation before construction began and make confident design decisions early in the process.
Behind the Scenes
Bringing LVL Lounge to life required close coordination between our design team, contractors, and fabricators to ensure every detail aligned with the intended vision. Since the project involved transforming an existing space rather than building from scratch, careful planning was essential to integrate new finishes, lighting, and custom features seamlessly into the current layout.
Solutions
Speakeasy-Inspired Transformation: The space was redesigned with a warm, amber-toned lighting palette and intimate layout to create a true cocktail lounge atmosphere. This approach introduced a refined identity that sets LVL Lounge apart within the local market.
Durable Granite Bar Countertop: A new granite countertop replaced the outdated bar surface, providing both a modern aesthetic and long-term durability suited for a high-traffic bar environment.
Central Bottle Display & Integrated Screens: A custom bar bottle display with integrated screens was introduced as the main focal point of the room. This feature allows the venue to showcase branding, sports, and visual content while enhancing the overall design.
Layered Lighting Design: A combination of ceiling panels, picture lights, table lamps, and accent lighting was implemented to create depth and warmth throughout the space. All lighting elements were designed with dimming capability to easily adjust the mood from relaxed cocktail hours to late-night energy.
Custom Seating & Layout Enhancement: New lounge seating, custom banquettes, and strategic furniture placement created a balanced layout that supports both social interaction and comfort while maximizing space efficiency.
Brand Integration & Visual Identity: The LVL wall sign and branded design elements were incorporated to strengthen identity and encourage social media engagement, turning the space itself into a recognizable visual backdrop.

LVL Lounge was successfully transformed into a stylish and inviting cocktail destination that delivers a distinct speakeasy-inspired experience in Allentown.
