Tirso Lighting was contacted by a homeowner in Allentown, Pennsylvania, seeking to enhance the curb appeal of their residence. Situated in a neighborhood known for its stunning homes, the client aimed to not only match but exceed the aesthetic standards of the area. Our task was to design an exterior façade lighting system that would make their home visually striking and distinct.
3D Renderings
Before initiating our design process, our team conducted a comprehensive LiDAR scan of the exterior of the property, which enabled us to generate a precise 3D model of the homes exterior. This 3D model served as the canvas for our lighting design, allowing us to experiment with different lighting scenarios and visual effects. The renderings provided a realistic preview of how the lighting would interact with the architectural elements of the house, enabling the client to visualize the impact of various designs before making a final decision. This approach not only ensured alignment with the client’s expectations but also facilitated a smooth transition from concept to execution, reducing the likelihood of costly modifications during the installation phase.
Lighting Solutions
Front Facade: We chose the Iluminarc Ilumipod ML color-changing lighting fixtures to illuminate the front of the house dynamically.
Side Facade: The Ilumipod SL was installed to enhance the side aspects of the house, creating a cohesive look around the perimeter.
Driveway and Pathways: To accent the driveway and pathways, we strategically placed WAC Lighting Path lights every 10 feet, providing both functional and aesthetic value.
Control Systems
The entire lighting setup was integrated with the Madrix lighting control system, offering architectural quality and ease of operation. Our team pre-programmed the system with various scenes tailored for daily operations and special events, including holiday-specific settings.
Documentation and Installation
Detailed electrical engineering documentation and installation drawings were provided, facilitating a seamless installation by a licensed electrical contractor. Our support extended from remote troubleshooting to on-site technical assistance during the installation and final setup.
The Outcome
Post-installation, our technicians conducted extensive on-site tests to ensure every aspect of the installation met our high standards. This included final adjustments to the lighting control software and securing all connections within the system.
The project concluded with the client expressing immense satisfaction with the transformation of their home’s exterior. The 3D renderings closely matched the final outcome, effectively visualizing the potential of the lighting design from the early stages of the project.
